LIFE: Thank You God For 2015

2015 has been an amazing year for me. I leave my house for the first time and move to another city by myself, I finally work, I travel to other parts of Indonesia, and I got to know how much my family and friends love me. Through ups and downs I’ve experience in 2015 I thank God for it. His work and plans are never fail! So here’s a recap of Jennifer’s Life in 2015 and what I learned.

I’ve written the recap for the first quarter of my life in 2015, which you can read here.

In May, I joined another guiding competition in Bandung. It was a nerve-wrecking competition because it was a national scale one. Travel students from different university around Indonesia joined this competition. Not the best performance I can do, but I got 2nd place!! I thank God for the grace and miracle He did for me on that day! I learned that even you are not confident with your ability, but if you gave it all to God’s hand, He will do the miracle for you. Just keep on believing.

I’ve written about my trip to Manado last June here, so you can read there & to keep this blog not too long. :3 Other than that trip, I’ve finished my 6th semester and enjoying 3 weeks holiday to prepare for the internship and have lots of farewell meet-up. I also have my last meeting with the Student Executive Board members to evaluate our works over the past years. Not only that, we had potluck and sharing about one another. It was such an emotional moment, but I’m grateful to be with them on my last days in Jakarta. I thank God for letting me to be a family to them and know more about them.

July is the start of new chapter of my life! As you already know, I’ve been moving out from Jakarta to Lombok for my internship. It was a whole new experience!

August! My favorite month of the year!! I celebrated my birthday away from home for the first time!! And my friends came from Bali and gave me a surprise! (Thanks guys, I love you!) Also this month, I got my monthly payment the highest. (YAY!!) I get to love my job much more and I thank God for every opportunity I got.
thanks girls for coming

There were not much things happened in September. But I thanks God for the relaxing times, so that I got the chance to go back home for few days. :D

I got nothing to do on October and November. It was the most boring time in my internship life. So, on the last week in October I went to Bali (read my travel diary here). As well as in November, I went to Bali again! I never imagined I could have those opportunities. I never fly by myself before, but since I moved out, I’ve been flying solo. It was a good experience though for me. And I thank God for the grace upon me that I arrived and depart safe and sound. Also, thanks mom for granting my wish to go to Bali every month.

Finally my second favorite month has arrived! Christmas and last month of the year? It was one of the best thing about December. And I’ve finished my internship this month. I got to spend my Christmas home too! Thank God I’ve finished my internship well, got to spend joyous holiday in Bali, and spend Christmas and New Year at home!

I’ve never imagined it before for things I’ve done, experience, and go through all these past 2015. Thank you God for everything You’ve given to me in 2015, all the bad and good times. I thanked You for every bits of it. Thank You.

For people who come and go in 2015, thank you for the memories you’ve given to me. I hope we can meet again in the future. I’m sorry if I made mistake to you.

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016. Please be nice!

LIFE: Christmas 2015 Reflection

Since I will more diligently write on my blog, I’m going to post my annual Christmas Reflection. Last year, I’ve learned what is the right spirit of Christmas. This year, I’ve learned that Christmas is about giving not receiving. Even though I was away from home for the past 6 months, it makes me realize more that all the love my family and friends give me through all these time is very important. I realized it when I celebrated my birthday not at home with my family for the first time. But, my friends came to visit me and celebrate it. It was priceless. Seeing them is enough for me, but a birthday surprise? I’m grateful for it!
From that day, I realize I have to give more to gain more. What I gain from giving? I gain more blessing from God. I gain more happiness. I gain more love. I gain more peacefulness. I gain more healthy life, mentally and physically.
Even though I didn’t have a good, perfect day everyday, but I thank God for everything. And in this Christmas, I will give more. Give thanks more. Give love more. Give happiness more. I hope you have a joyful Christmas this year. Remember, Christmas is not about presents, decoration, but it is about Jesus Christ, in representative of God’s Love for humans. God bless you all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
xoxo,

Visit Indonesia: Bali 2015 Trip (PART 2)

This is the continuation of my previous post. If you haven't read it, you can read it here. :)

Day 3

It’s Monday! Most of my friends went for work so, there were only 3 of us left for enjoying Bali. We went to eat Nasi Ayam (Balinese style rice chicken) for breakfast. It’s been a long time since I ate nasi ayam and so good to ate that. Nyum! We tried Nasi Ayam Bu Sri. It is not a famous one, but it was pretty good. I want to eat there again next time. The crunchy chicken was very good!
Next stop, we hunt for souvenirs. I bought the famous pie susu and peanuts. I bought it for my co-workers in Lombok. I recommend you to buy it at Bali Jaya (for food) and Krisna (for food or non food such as Barong shirt, fan, aromatherapy, etc).
After souvenir hunt, we went to Canggu! We are going to visit La Laguna. We lost our way when we went there. Even google maps and Waze could not help us. What is worst is the local also didn’t know how to get there. #hopeless But, in the end we find our way there. YAY! BY OURSELVES! La Laguna is a sister of La Plancha and La Favela. They have a similar design, vintage and shabby chic. They have the famous bridge and it is the must see spot if you came here and took a picture of it for your instagram! The food was pretty awesome, but they have a little variety of menu. It’s better for you to just have snacks and drink there rather than buying the main course. We have a fun photo-shoot there. You can check it down below or my instagram @Jenni_C_Park

At night, we went to eat at local restaurant in Kuta. We ate at a budget friendly restaurant (read: warung) because we’ve spent too much since Saturday. I didn’t shoot it in my video, but I’ll write it here. We ate at Nasi Pedas Bu Anik. It is one of the favorite place for Balinese and domestic tourist to eat in Bali. I didn’t recommend for anyone who can’t eat spicy food. This place served several variety of food which mostly spicy. Idk why I can eat those food. Maybe, my spiciness endurance level has increased. YEAY! The price is very affordable but it depends on your choice of dishes.

After our dinner, 3 of my friends wanted to have spa. Doing spa is one of the best things to do in Bali! If you like spa, you can try it. On the other side, I didn’t enjoy spa so, 2 of my friends and I went to Seminyak. At first we want to wait the 3 girls at Revolver Café. But it is closed on Monday. So we search for another café, and in the end we stopped by at Kilo Bali. We thought it was just a regular café, but actually it is a fancy restaurant. It was pretty okay to be categorized as a fine-dinning restaurant. With our t-shirt, short, and flip-flops we enter the restaurant confidentially. The ambience was so so so nice! I really liked it. It would be even better when you came around 5 PM, since you can took a very good picture because the lightning is perfect at that time! No flash needed. The menu is pretty expensive, but worth it. You have to try their truffle sushi and vanilla ice cream.

Day 4

It was my last day in Bali. My flight home is at night, so I have a plenty time to spend my day around Bali. My friend went back to Singapore in the morning, so I spent my day with my other friend named Kingnen. He works in Bali and today was his day-off.
I started my day with a brunch in Bali Bakery. You should eat here whenever you came to Kuta Area. There are 2 branch of Bali Bakery, but the food is better in Kuta branch. You have to order their zuppa soup. It is da bomb! Other food was also nice. Their pastries are worth to try!

After brunching, I went to Creamy Comfort in Seminyak with Kingnen. Creamy Comfort is located in front of Axioo Bali Showroom. There, I ate their dessert and coffee. The drinks was just okay, but their dessert was AMAZING! Especially their Chocolate Smores Tart (if I’m not mistaken). If you know Axioo Photography, you probably know how this café looks like or the ambience feel like. Yup! The interior is very instagenic! You should take a lots of picture there. HEHE.

After a long chat with Kingnen, we decided to went back to my guesthouse. But before that, we went to Galeria Mall because I need to buy some magazine for killing time n the office. Then we bought Chatime! Oh how I missed bubble tea shops!
From Galeria Mall, we went to my guesthouse and he went back to his house. I prepared my bags and took a bath. I waited for my friend who will drove to the airport. I was almost late for check-in time, but I thankfully I arrived on time.
Well, that’s it!  It ends my trip in Bali. Do you think it is fun to visit Bali? How do you think about my first travel diary video? Leave your opinion in the comment box below. I’ll love to read your thoughts and opinion. Until then, see you on my next post and video!
