EMPTIES: Top 5 Empty Products of 2023 Part 1

Hi everyone!

It’s me back again with my empties product for the first half of 2023 that I should’ve posted since 3 months ago. Due to a busy schedule and lack of motivation to start, I got to post this list in October. Watch the full empties products on my YouTube, here and read my top 5 favorite products from the empties down below.

Lagom Cell Up Gel to Water Cleanser

This is the most innovative cleanser that I’ve ever bought back in 2019. But, I guess I didn’t do proper research about how to use this product exactly, and also, I didn’t buy the evening cleanser, so I didn’t get the maximum benefits of this product. But, after all, I love this morning cleanser. It is scentless, but still has a good smell from the oils inside, like, lavender oil, bergamot oil, sandalwood oil, and rose oil as well. The cleanser is mild and it gives a refreshing feeling after washing. This cleanser has no harsh chemical ingredients and is obviously dermatologist-tested.

I really recommend this product!

Pixy Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

This makeup remover is from an Indonesian brand. It might have a similar name to the US brand, Pixi, but it’s not. I came to across this eye & lip remover solely because the product was on sale. Turns out the product was really effective in removing all the waterproof products in single use. It doesn’t sting as well. The product is also very affordable; it was cheaper than Maybelline one. I bought the small size to try out the product first, but I loved the product, so I’ll buy the full-size one later on.

Will repurchase it for sure!

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

I bought this cream together with the Lagom cleanser back in 2019 while I was in Korea. This is probably one of the best products that I have come across from social media. I really loved this cream. It was creamy yet lightweight. After application, my skin looks fabulous, glowing, and moist. The packaging is simple yet sophisticated. It was a glass jar and came with a spoon to scoop the product. I liked this product so much.

I’m going to stock this product in my drawer.

Huxley Secret of Sahara Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++

I also bought this product when I was living in Korea. I regretted that I didn’t try this product during the summer in Korea, this product was so good and very suitable for humid Korea. The product is lightweight and almost no white cast because the sun cream is not a totally white color. The product is also suitable for sensitive skin because this product is hypo-allergic and I didn’t experience any itchiness while using the product.

Definitely will repurchase

(I’ve put this sunscreen on my Olive Young basket, but I didn’t make the repurchase because I have some sunscreen in stock yet)

Bobbi Brown XO Bobbi Long Wear Eyeliner Set

The only high-end brand product on this list. My mom bought it for me back when I was 16. It was the time when I started to attend lots of sweet 17 birthday parties. This product was a hero product back in the day. It’s my holy grail product. Even though I didn’t and couldn’t do the trendy eye makeup using the product, this eyeliner was the best eyeliner I’ve ever had on my vanity. The eyeliner is living up to its’ name. It was long-lasting. Too bad, I couldn’t use up all the product even after some years. But, I really liked the product and will always love it.

Though, I am not sure if I could repurchase the product again because it was pretty high. I might look for the dupe first.

Well, that’s all the top five products of my empties of 2023 part one. Thank you for reading and if you have any recommendations of the product that I might like, leave them in the comment section down below or on my YouTube channel. There are more products that I have to throw away by the end of this year.

So, see you soon on the second part.

Empties 2020 - 2021 Top 8 Products

Finally, I’m back with my talking video after a long time. Revealing my 2 years' worth of emptied products here! All of the products are revealed in the video and on this blog, I’ll just feature the top 8 only.

One of my best findings on the internet. I was introduced to this brand thanks to Morgan from My Beauty Breakdown. I bought this product to substitute the Dr. Jart Acne Spot Treatment that I used to use to fight my skin troubles or acnes. I loved the Dr. Jart one, but it has reached the point that it can’t fight my skin troubles. This product still works awesomely even though I’ve used three tubes of it.

The product consists of a series of natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, aloe vera, phellinus linteus (a kind of mushroom), and witch-hazel (a kind of flower). Since the product is gel-type and transparent, it can be used day and night. And that’s what I like the most about this product. Compared to the other spot treatments that I’ve tried, transparency is what I needed the most in the spot treatment product. Depending on how severe is my trouble, the treatment might take some time, but most of the time, it works pretty fast. And it doesn’t really leave scars at most of the time. This product is my must-haves skincare product in my cabinet.

Holy grail products that lived up to its’ name. I really had a pleasant experience with this product. I rarely have redness on my skin and it brightens my skin. After I finished, this product, I used other niacinamide serums and I couldn’t really say I am satisfied enough with the result as I do with The Ordinary one.

The next morning after I use this product, I feel my face brighter and most of all I don’t have serious skin trouble while using the product. After I finished this product, I started to have very severe skin trouble and up until now, the marks are still visible. I understand why people love this product and I still couldn’t find a better version of this serum yet.

Remember my Bath and Body Works haul back in 2015? I finally finished the last bottle of it. Lol. I think the product has expired, but it still smells fine and I don’t have any skin problems, so I guess it’s still valid.

I really love this Cherry Blossom shower gel. It is refreshing yet enough sweet. I don’t really like sweet scents, but this one has a subtle sweetness so I liked it. Definitely my must-have scent in Bath and Body Works. I’m currently finishing the body lotion one, so see it on my next empties later on.

One of the best deodorants that I’ve tried so far. It is unscented, which I really love compared to other deodorant sprays. The other products have good smells, but sometimes it can be burdensome. And after all, perfume is made from alcohol, so it’s not really the best option out there.

I am trying my best to avoid beauty products that contain alcohol and perfume. Even for my hands, I prefer washing my hands with soap rather than using hand sanitizer whenever possible.

Simple’s cleansing tissue was great! The tissue was soft and a bit textured, which wiped-off all the makeup and semi-peel off the skin. It was satisfying while use the product. Compared to my previous fave, the YesTo cleansing wipes, this product is like the upgraded version. I love how they choose to texturize the tissue. As for the formula, I just love that it is simple, like its’ name!

I bought this product back in 2017 when I was visiting my brother in Australia. After a few years, Simple is on sale at drugstores in Indonesia. So, getting my hands on this product is just a reach of hand.

I’ve been using Nair products since I was in senior high school. Out of all the products I’ve used, this one is the most comfortable one to use, except the turner was kinda a bummer. Regarding the formula, I didn’t find any much difference with the Nair products that are sold in the Indonesian drugstores. It’s just I really liked the idea of the glide-on.

I really love Innisfree’s makeup products. One of them is this stick concealer. Finally finishing a makeup product is very satisfying and rewarding. Especially, with thousands of new products every day, it was quite hard to finish off the product. The urge to try a new product was quite big, but I nailed to finish it.

The formula of this stick concealer is more on the creamier side. The coverage is satisfying enough for small acnes and semi-red skin. Since it’s a stick concealer, it is travel friendly and I brought this concealer whenever I travel. The product is also blend-well even with hands, but I didn’t recommend it that way. Well, I really loved this product.

Finally, I finished up one out of three of my 3CE Lip Lacquer set. The first color that I finished is called Bon Bon. I really loved this shade. Ever since I bought this product, I practically use this shade most of the time. Finding the perfect shade for your lip is like finding a soulmate. I really feel confident and joyful whenever I use my favorite shade. One out, two more to go.

I know there are lots of new products launched every day, but keep in mind to finish what you’ve started unless it doesn’t suitable for your skin. The reason I make this post is not to make you buy it too, but just to share a piece of information and review regarding the products. Let’s become a smarter and wiser consumers.

Thank you for reading up on this part. I’ll share more useful information in the future. Please keep your support towards me. Have a wonderful day!

JENNIFER’S PASSION 2020 AWARDS

Hi Everyone!

Taking a little break from my (pending) JCP Features project for a while for a special rewind of 2020. (which is late for 3 months already. I'm sawrryy!) Like I used to do every year in this blog, I reflected on what happened in that year. This time I will do it in a form of awards for every little thing I appreciate in 2020. Since 2016, I have the habit of watching year-end awards and inspired to do in my version this year. 2020 was an unusual year for all of us around the world. The things we used to think it is natural, we couldn’t have anymore, and unexpectedly, we lost many things in 2020. Even so, let’s start 2021 with new fresh energy and hope that all this pandemic drama is over!

The awards will be separated into few categories, such as TV Shows & Music, Foods, and Random stuff. All the awardees listed down below are purely according to my opinions and just for fun.

TV Shows & Music

I spent half of my 2020 watching TV and listening to music, so I have a lot of favorite things to award in this category. I also noticed that many of my friends and acquittances (from Instagram) watched Korean shows during the quarantine days, so I believe many of you might be familiar with the awardees listed down below.

Update: The House Detox is now not just a pilot show. It's become a regular Monday TV Show.

Foods

I loveeee food. Well, I used to be a picky eater, but after hanging around with heavy eater and foodie friends in university, my palette changed. I started to eat most kinds of food. The foods I used to dislike? I ate them now and loved them. I was influenced by my mom for disliking pork, but hell yeah, it was one of the most delicious poultry in the whole world (but it all depends on how they serve it). I dreamt to be a food blogger actually and I travel for trying delicious food out in the world. Also, this year I learned that food does not only give you energy, it gives you comfort. From the food, we could receive warmth. More about this you can look up my Instagram post, here and mentioned a bit of it on my July’s JCP Feature, here.

Random Stuff

This section will be filled in with everything that I like other than TV show, music, and food. Beauty stuff, fashion, and many more.

I have a hard time choosing all of the lists above because I like so many things. This list pretty much sums up how my 2020 be like. Well, as you can see 2020 is not that bad, it’s just hard. I just wanted to thank every medical helper out there wherever you are, so have done well. I hope we can work hand-in-hand to fight this pandemic soon. Please don’t forget to use your mask wherever you go and please wash your hands regularly.

I wish you a great 2021 and hopefully, the world gets better and we finally can have a real warm hug and freely see each other again. Thank you for the support in 2020 and I hope I can have more exciting posts in the future (also reviving my YouTube Channel!).

Stay safe and be happy everyone!

Love ya,

Jennifer

BEAUTY: Empties 2017 (TOP 5)

Hey! Empties of 2017 is here, finally! I’ve prepared it since January but, I’m busy with my very last assignment for my undergraduate program. Now it’s done! I feel so relieved and so light right now. I’ll highlight few products that I recommend for you to try out in this post.(Watch the full video here)

Nivea Night Whitening Body Lotion

I really liked this body lotion. First time I came across this body lotion was when I feel that my skin looks darker since I stayed in Lombok. I bought this at a local supermarket in Lombok. Actually I don’t really need whitening products because usually my skin will be back to normal after few days staying at home. After giving a try, I does give an instant whitening on my skin. The product consistency is quite light and dry fast after application. You won’t feel the tackiness lotions usually have since it is dry fast. It is a good bedtime routine product you need.

Wavertree and London Bar Soap

Major love for this bar soap! I got this from my mom who brought it from Australia. Frankly speaking, this soap might not as fancy as Lush’s products, but I really liked this bar soap. With 200g worth of products, it is much bigger than any Lush’s bar soap. It is cheaper also! The scent is just perfect, not too much or too less. And most of all, it is moisturizing especially when you use bath puff, it lathers so well.

Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil Eyeliner

My holy grail eyeliner ever! It glides easily and didn’t hurt your waterline at all. It doesn’t smudge for quite some time and the color pay-off is real deal. I’ve never use makeup whenever I play with water, but I usually sweat a lot when I have outdoor activity, like being a tour guide for example. When it happened, this eyeliner still stays, but a little smudge can be seen. But it doesn’t turn you into a panda, though. The price is inexpensive, that’s why when I went to Korea on April 2016, I bought like 4 pieces of it.

Isoi Bulgarian Rose Blemish Care Serum

After using it few times I feel disappointed with this product, but I still finished this product. It turns out the result of using this product was slow. But I do find difference on my skin. Since my beloved Lancome serum has now gone, I finally found the replacement, which is this Isoi serum. The only downside of this serum is the product is too little but the bottle is too heavy. When I’m going to Korea, I planned to buy this skincare line again. I should try this product out again since my skin has changed since the last time I used this product. I wonder if it worked again with my skin. But definitely, this product is worth to try!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil-free Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes

My new fave product from a drugstore. I’ve been in love with my Pond’s wipes before I get my hands on this Neutrogena cleansing wipes. This wipes are magical. It gives you instant refreshing feeling on your skin. It dries fast also, so don’t worry if you didn’t do the double cleansing procedure. The product is oil-free so, it doesn’t show any shine on your face like any other makeup remover products. One packet of this wipes worth a long way. So, it is really worth to the try.

So that’s is my top 5 products from Empties 2017. I hope you find this post helpful and hope you can find it in your country because some of the products I mentioned in the video or this post are mostly from Indonesia and Korea. Also, there are some products that are already discontinued. If you have tried the products I’ve mentioned, don’t hesitate to comment down below.

Have a wonderful day, everyone! Remember you are beautiful in your own way. Thank you for reading!!
