I’ve
been longing to decorate my office in Lombok for some times. Then, I got idea I
could change it little by little. I started with changing the clock in my
office. Our clock was not good looking, old; it was a souvenir from a school.
So, I came up with the idea of making a DIY clock! I find inspiration from
Pinterest, my favorite source of ideas. Follow me if you have one! I’m going to
make an instruction to make this easy DIY. If you are interested, keep on
reading.
- Blank Canvas
- Paint, any kind of paint works. But I use spray paint this time
- Scissors
- Markers. I use permanent markers for this project.
- The clock machine + Battery
- Newspaper/scrap papers
- Printables for the numbers, alphabets, decoration. But this one is optional
- Creativity
1. Lay out newspapers or scrap papers, then
put your canvas on top of it. Since, I’m using spray paints, I work it outside.
2. Then, start spraying your canvas evenly. I applied about 2
coats. Don’t forget to spray the sides.
4. Mark down where you want to put the clock with pencil.
5. Push down the mark you have done before with something sharp. For example, cutter or scissors is okay. Since canvas has a thin surface so cutter or scissors get the work done.
6. Place your machine behind the canvas, so the top of the machine (where the clock needles sets) will pop up to the surface.
7. Tighten the metals.
8. Place down the needles. The shorter hand is the first one, then the longer hand, and then the second hand is the last one.
9. It’s time to use your creativity! Now you can write down the numbers, words, or decoration for your clock. I have a bad hand writing and it’s kinda embarrassing to show my hand writing, so I print out the numbers and alphabets. LOL
10. Now, it’s the time to put on the battery and see if your clock works!
11. Display your clock and let your clock motivate you to be more punctual and appreciate time.
Hope
you enjoy my tutorial and good luck with your DIY clock. ;) See you on the next project.
