I didn’t expect that it would take this long to finally post this blog. After several days trying to upload the video on YouTube, I didn’t have the time to finish the blog post, so I’m so sorry for the delay. I didn’t even get the time to throw away the empty bottles. Well, anyway, the products below were my top 5 products that I’ve emptied in 2024.
Lush - I Love Juicy Shampoo
I really love this shampoo, but too bad that this product has been discontinued. It has just enough freshness. It doesn’t “solve” hair problems like dandruff, hair loss, or oily hair; it's just a shampoo that makes you feel good after the wash. Lush does have a natural, eco-conscious brand image, but for this product, they use parabens and sulfates. Maybe they discontinued this due to the ingredients, but I really love the scent. I wanted to try out the other shampoo, but I still couldn’t find the scent that I like.
Clinique - Quickliner for Eye Intense
This eyeliner is one of the best eyeliners I’ve ever had! It glides well, slim, and it stays for hours. I got mine in dark brown, which creates a more natural line. You only need to spin the eyeliner once, and after use, it will sharpen the tip automatically. But I just found out that it can sharpen the tip by itself a bit later. It got broken, but thankfully, I almost finished the product. The only reason I had to think twice to repurchase is that Clinique is quite pricey in Indonesia, and there are a few more pocket-friendly options available these days. I got this eyeliner from my aunt, who lives in the USA. If I got a good deal, I’ll definitely get my hands on this product.
Kiehl’s - Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment
One of the best eye creams I’ve ever used (well, I’ve only tried 3 products so far). This eye cream is creamy but very light. The main ingredient of this product is avocado, which is rich in vitamins C, E, and biotin that fight aging and promote collagen. Our skin near the eyes is really thin, and it needs extra attention. We can easily tell someone is aging by looking at their eye area, so to stay youthful, take care of your eyes! I’ve planned to repurchase this product, but again, Kiehl’s product is quite pricey in Indonesia (because of the import tariffs), so I have to buy it overseas (but I had a bad feeling that this product will be discontinued) or find a dupe of this product locally. I haven’t found the dupe yet, but I’m currently using the Beauty of Joseon’s ginseng eye serum. Let’s see if it will work as well as this Kiehl’s eye cream.
Scarlett’s - Happy Body Cream
The only Indonesian brand that made it to the top 5 list. I really like the scent of this body cream. I’ve used the body serum with the same scent separately, but it is recommended to use the serum and cream altogether twice a day to get the best of this product. This product has a brightening effect, and the scent is quite strong. If you didn't like a product with a strong scent (which is perfume), then this product is not for you. But using this product every day after a shower makes my mood feel good, as I smell really nice. Not sure about the moisturizing benefit, but this product can really lift up the mood.
The scents are as follows:
- Top Notes: Grapefruit, mandarin, pineapple
- Middle Notes: Rose, neroli, cassis
- Base Notes: Amber, orris, tonka bean
Acnes Labo - Spot Cream
This product is an acne spot cream from a Japanese brand. I came across this product when I went to Japan in 2019, but I only finished the product in 2024. I bought this product because I didn't bring my acne spot treatment, and there’s a new acne spot started to show up. Surprisingly, the product worked really fast and effectively. It came with an acne patch as well. It was a great acne-fighting package, and I’m still using this product until now. Very recommended!
P.S.: Use this product only at night since it’s a white, thick cream. But if you don’t mind walking around in the day with white dots, you can use it day and night.
